Pro Squash Exhibition - The Shorbagy Brothers
We were thrilled to host two world ranked squash players, Mohamed and Marwan El Shorbagy at the Club this summer.
The brothers are fixtures at the top of the world squash rankings, and have both won the World Junior Squash Championships twice. Before the match the two spent time coaching some of the club’s junior players, giving them individual attention and tips to improve their game, watched by the Mayor of Aylesbury, Stephen Lambert, who came along to watch the coaching and learn more about the club.
Simon Dennis and Oliver Field head up the junior coaching at the Club. “This was a fantastic opportunity for our juniors, to hit against a world-class player. We hope that it will inspire them to continue practising and improving, and, maybe one day we’ll see one of them on the world stage too!”
The evening continued with the brothers taking on two of the club’s chosen players watched by a packed crowd of members. The event closed with the much-awaited exhibition match, with Mohammed coming out on top, winning 3-1.
